 note = {As technology brings people from across the globe closer together, the spread of English as an international language has increased. As this spread continues, debate has arisen as to whether English as it is spoken in countries such as America and England should remain the standard, or acceptance should be widened to encompass the many non-native varieties that are used throughout the world. Furthermore, technology brings with it other challenges as knowledge is now presented in multiple modes ー visual, audio, gestural, spatial, linguistic ー which we are expected to understand and use to meet our goals.
