This paper focuses on two of the most popular women writers, Lydia Maria Child and Catherine M. Sedgwick, and analyzes their family and local backgrounds in order to understand their political intentions.\nIn a previous paper, I discussed that these authors offered various pieces of advice to children and parents regarding kindness to animals. I also found strong sentiments of abhorrence towards violence in their writings. In this paper, I investigate the cause of their hatred toward violence in light of the historical context. \nI discuss the following three points; firstly, an analysis of the historiography of the history of humanitarianism in order to contextualize the advocacy of animals. Secondly, I will examine the political circumstances of the time, such as the two revolutions and the party-conflict between the Federalists and the Republicans at the turn of the 18th-19th century. Through examining this, it is possible to find the cause of sentiments toward violence in the works of Sedgwick and Child. Finally, I will examine the messages of Sedgwick and Child, and I conclude that they not only used the rhetoric called anti-jacobinism, which prevailed among conservatives in the North of the U.S., but also created a new way of appealing the hatred sentiment toward violence by alerting animal matters.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_2_description_15":{"attribute_name":"表示順","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"4","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_2_description_8":{"attribute_name":"記事種別(日)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"論文","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_2_source_id_1":{"attribute_name":"雑誌書誌ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA11169031","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_2_source_id_19":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"13431412","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_2_text_6":{"attribute_name":"著者所属(日)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"淑徳大学国際コミュニケーション学部兼任講師"}]},"item_2_title_3":{"attribute_name":"論文名よみ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"19セイキ ショトウ アメリカ ガッシュウコク ニオケル ドウブツ アイゴ : セイキ テンカンキ ノ セイジ ジョウセイ カラ ミル シャカイテキ イミ ノ コウサツ オ チュウシン ニ"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"白石(那須), 千鶴"},{"creatorName":"シライシ(ナス), チズル","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Shiraishi(Nasu), Chizuru","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-02-09"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"SSC-JA2011-01601-004.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.0 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"SSC-JA2011-01601-004.pdf","url":"https://shukutoku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/1490/files/SSC-JA2011-01601-004.pdf"},"version_id":"48134fb5-9f8d-44c0-bec9-9f8aa49804dc"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"革命期","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"反ジャコバン主義言説","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"暴力嫌悪のイデオロギー","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"奴隷制廃止運動","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"動物愛護言説","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"19世紀初頭アメリカ合衆国における動物愛護 : 世紀転換期の政治情勢からみる社会的意味の考察を中心に","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"19世紀初頭アメリカ合衆国における動物愛護 : 世紀転換期の政治情勢からみる社会的意味の考察を中心に"},{"subitem_title":"Feelings of Kindness to Animals in the early 19th Century America : A Study on the Social Meanings under the Political Circumstances at the turn of the Century","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"2","owner":"17","path":["181"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2018-02-09"},"publish_date":"2018-02-09","publish_status":"0","recid":"1490","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["19世紀初頭アメリカ合衆国における動物愛護 : 世紀転換期の政治情勢からみる社会的意味の考察を中心に"],"weko_creator_id":"17","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-19T10:07:51.021767+00:00"}
