 note = {The Yosakoi Dance Festival started in Kouchi City in Shikoku Region in 1954 and the YOSAKOI-Soran Dance Festival started in Sapporo City in Hokkaido in 1992 are now two main dance cultures in Japan. Dance Festivals of these styles of dancing now take place in about 200 cities and towns all over Japan. In Particular YOSAKOI-Soran dance style has given to the world dance scenes two new aspects of body movements, a kind of new “groove”, which are the side-swing of the trunk of the body and revolving movement of the trunk of the body.
