 note = {In this article effects of a samba rhythm on some mentally-handicapped children were investigated. Music with samba-beat accompaniment and music with non samba-beat accompaniment were presented to four mentally retarded children, four autistic children and one ADHD child. Their responses were observed and analyzed using a time-sampling method. The children with mental retardation and half of the autistic children showed direct responses, such as laughing and eye contacting to samba rhythm, but the rest of the children showed no noticeable responses to the rhythm.
