The purpose of this paper is to reconsider what the moral values are, and how they can be interpreted. To this purpose, we check the meaning of “Doutoku”(morals) in dictionaries and Tetsuro Watsuji’s study of “Toku no Shyosou (Aspects of morality)” in his “Rinrigaku”, and confirm the relationship between moral norms and virtues in morality.
