Hope is directed toward the future, but its uncertainty makes this both difficult and possible. In addition, hope is an insight into the present that contains the future. I will argue that the original hope as an intangibles is born in despair. The essays shows that we are in time as a single time, not a past, present, future, articulated or objectified time. Furthermore, I demonstrate that time is born in the present.
