The previous research findings reveal that the non-harmony of the prevailing social work approach with the country's socio-economic culture attributes to this slow progress where the teachings of Buddha have influentially penetrated into the socio-cultural norms. Hence, searching for a methodology to create the above harmony is vital. This study therefore, aims at identifying the Sutta Pitaka-based Buddhist teachings that can be blended with professional social work structure so that the disharmony can be eliminated through such blending. A qualitative approach incorporated with the content analysis tool was used for this study. The analysis of 11,882 Suttas confirmed that the contents of 447 Suttas are aligned with key areas of philosophical foundation, theoretical teaching, methods, concepts, values and ethics, skills, and qualities of professional social work. Further, the relevant contents (teachings) can easily be transformed into the practical aspects of social work.
